Statement of the Moatzos Gedolei and Chachmei Hatorah

moetzes-statement-feb-2014-small[Click on the images to magnify it.] The following is the text if the statement released at last night’s meeting:

This is not a time to give up, when those from among the government in Eretz Yisrael, directed by the prime minister, rose to rebel against Malchus Shomayim, and intend to pass laws deracinating Torah and imposing criminal sanctions on those to whom Torasam umnosom, to the extent that they will be imprisoned.

We fear the terrible chillul Hashem…that this involves. We fear the result and are pained by the continuing persecution directed at the Torah world and the continuous efforts to place obstructions before its every step.

As such, we have decided as follows:

The Moatzos Gedolei and Chachmei HaTorah demand that the government annul the decisions of the committee regarding forced conscription to the army of yeshiva and kollel students, and call on all the bnei yeshivos and kollelim not to join the army under any circumstances, and not to give in to enticements or penalties of any kind, and not to cooperate with the army’s plans to create a chareidi enlistment center, but rather continue learning Torah day and night.

If, chalilah, the persecutors of religion will implement their plans to ratify the draft law, the Moatzos Gedolei and Chachmei HaTorah will meet again to come up with a plan against the persecutors of religion. We will consider forbidding bochurim from reporting to recruiting centers.

The Moatzos Gedolei and Chachmei HaTorah demand that the government stop [and instead] help the Torah and education institutions in Eretz Yisroel thrive in the path paved for us by our rabbonim.

The Moatzos Gedolei and Chachmei HaTorah call on Klal Yisroel with the call: “Ein lanu shiyur rak haTorah hazosWe have nothing else but this Torah.” Learning Torah and keeping its mitzvos in holiness and purity is the protective wall for Am Yisroel wherever they are against any difficulties, and that is what will stand strong in the difficult times that have come to pass for Klal Yisroel, wherever they are, whether as a community or an individual, spiritually or physically. We must strengthen ourselves in Torah learning and keep the mitzvos in purity along with all facets of halacha.

The Moatzos Gedolei and Chachmei HaTorah are calling on all of Am Yisroel wherever they reside, in Eretz Yisroel and beyond, to grab hold of the craft of our forbears in their hands and to gather “kol haYehudim yachad kol shivtei Yisroel anoshim vetaf,” all Jews together, men and children, to call out to Hashem strongly that our Father in Heaven should have mercy on us like a Father to His sons.

We are hereby announcing that all those who are chareidim lidvar Hashem should join in unison at prayer rally and protest on Sunday, 7 Adar II. May it be a kiddush Sheim Shomayim to offset the desecration of Heaven perpetrated by the uprooters of religion.

May Hashem hear our pleas and accept our prayers willingly and quickly redeem us and bring us out from our challenges to reprieve, and from darkness to light, speedily in our day.

Zionism is evil and that will not change! The pro Zionist Rabbis simply got to the point that they can no longer ignore the Zionist reality because it is affecting them directly! isn’t that true?

  4. Over the last two months, I think I’m 0 for 5 on getting my posts displayed. I used a different name each time, so I suppose it’s my thoughts which aren’t approved. Other sites publish my comments, but not you. Fine. I’ll stick with them.
