Staten Island Commute Time Worst In The Nation

verrazanoThe United States Census Bureau yesterday confirmed something most commuters already knew – four of the city’s five boroughs ranked at the top of the list for the longest commute times to work.

Staten Island was the worst, at an average commute of 42.5 minutes. Queens was just behind at 42 minutes.

Brooklynites averaged 41.6 minutes of commute time, and the Bronx 41.3.

If you want to shorten your commute, you might want to head to King County, Texas. That’s where residents have the quickest trip at just 3.4 minutes.

The figures come from previous censuses and the 2009 American Community Survey, which sampled three-million households.
