Israel is the worldwide leader in monthly social network use, a U.S.-based research firm indicated, with Israeli users spending twice as much time chatting and posting more than the global average.

According to the report by U.S. internet marketing research company comScore on data collected during October, Israelis spent an average of 11.1 hours using social networks, more than double the world average of 5.7 hours, and ahead countries like the U.K. (7 hours) and the United States (6.9 hours).

Just behind Israel’s avid users were their counterparts in Argentina (10.7 hours), Russia (10.4 hours) and Turkey (10.2 hours).

The comScore report indicated social networks were the most popular online activity, with users representing 82% of the global internet community – about 1.2 billion people.

Israel stands tall in the standing here as well, with 94% of Israeli internet users using social networks.
