motorcycleAuthorities say a 28-year-old Hudson Valley man has been charged with driving his motorcycle at nearly 200 mph in the rain on the New York State Thruway.

State police say a trooper clocked Anthony Anderson of Poughkeepsie driving at 193 mph around 8 p.m. Wednesday in the southbound lanes of Interstate 87 just south of Albany. The trooper was able to get a description of the high-performance bike and alerted nearby Thruway patrols.

Troopers eventually stopped Anderson in the Ulster County town of Rosendale. Troopers say he told them he was headed to a Poughkeepsie-area hospital to visit a patient.

Anderson was issued 14 traffic tickets, including one for speeding.

He has been released from the county jail after posting $1,500 bail. It couldn’t be immediately determined if he had a lawyer.

  1. WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TO SAY THAT? YOUR NOT HASHEM, AND IM GLAD YOUR NOT. YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO SAY THAT, BORUCH HASHEM HE WASNT KILLED. I DONT KNOW HOW MUCH YOU WOULD LIKE IT IF I SAID THAT ABOUT YOU. WATCH WHAT YOU POST, I DONT CARE WHAT YOU THINK BUT DONT POST YOUR MIND, THANKS

  2. #3 and #4, when one puts other innocent peoples lives at risk then he does not deserve to live. Driving 200 miles per hour down a highway can cause serious accidents. Its like me walking through a crowd with a 10 foot knife and swinging it around. Where are your brains?????????

  3. Hey, Mr. Excuse you. If your daughter was hit & killed by this monster, would you still be saying the same?! Dumb!

  4. I think this Anderson on motorcycle has the din of rodef. I think the commentators who wished him to die, are correct. They do whatever is within their means to stop this person from being a threat to the rest of us.

  5. #3…You are totally out of your element…and not coming across like anything you want to..on the contrary. You are not as frum as you think…you are a vicious human being to think that someone riding two hundred miles an hour and the chance to mow people down in the process is something we just “leave in G….ds hands”.
If someone comes out to kill you, kill him first…and he is an achzur ..and if this were a member of your family, I wonder what shotgun you would use to take care of it.???? or you would so sweetly pardon him…which one is it???
And thanks…don’t need your permission to speak my mind. I just did… and this is what the comment section is for…
A little introspection would go a whole long way as to where your mindset and your heart really are.

  6. What is all this about “He should die” “He shouldn’t die” “Who are you to say” “He could have killed other people,” and so forth? First of all, life and death are in Hashem’s hands, not ours. Let’s stop with the bloodthirstiness – it isn’t unsere derech.

Second, going at 193 or at 93 – it doesn’t matter. At 93 mph you can’t react fast enough to avoid an accident. I’ve been on the NJ Turnpike (as a passenger) when the driver was doing 100 mph and people were passing him. No way anyone could react in an emergency quick enough to count. If this guy is a rodef going at 193, so are you a rodef going at 95. Think it’s cute to break that ridiculous “goyishe” speed limit? Well, you’re just as much a rodef as this guy – and maybe suicidal to boot. STAY WITHIN THE SPEED LIMIT YOURSELF – quit commenting on other people’s craziness until you mend your own.
