ted-cruzRepublican Sen. Ted Cruz released a definitive list Wednesday of 76 “lawless” Obama administration actions and abuses of power.

Cruz’s “The Legal Limit Report No. 4” delves into little-known and little-reported details of President Obama’s executive actions. Cruz was set to discuss his report at the Federalist Society in the Promenade Ballroom of the Mayflower Hotel in Washington at 2:15 PM Wednesday.

“Of all the troubling aspects of the Obama presidency, none is more dangerous than the President’s persistent pattern of lawlessness, his willingness to disregard the written law and instead enforce his own policies via executive fiat,” Cruz stated in the report’s introductory remarks.

“President Obama has openly defied [rule of law] by repeatedly suspending, delaying, and waiving portions of the laws that he is charged to enforce. When President Obama disagreed with federal immigration laws, he instructed the Justice Department to cease enforcing the laws. He did the same thing with federal welfare law, drug laws, and the federal Defense of Marriage Act,” Cruz wrote. “In the more than two centuries of our nation’s history, there is simply no precedent for the White House wantonly ignoring federal law and asking others to do the same.”

Cruz details 76 specific actions over eight chapters. We’ve listed eight of them, as chronicled by Cruz, below:

  1. “President Cruz…..Bezrat Hashem.”

Obviously I did not write that comment.

But lets look at a few of these:

“Implemented portions of the DREAM Act, which Congress rejected, by executive action.”

Cruz clearly doesn’t understand immigration law. Almost anyone in the world can come to the US legally to enroll in college or to enlist in the US military; Obama just ended the stupid rule that required illegal immigrants to leave the US in order to do that.

“Killed four Americans overseas in counter-terrorism operations without judicial process.”

You wage war on the US, we kill you. Cruz would have had Gen. Meade read Miranda rights to the Confederates at Gettysburg. Why he is into coddling terrorists is worthy of further study.

“Extended the deadline to enroll in Obamacare.”

Typical Republican who wants to prevent people from getting health insurance.

“Illegally required people to violate their faith via the Obamacare contraception mandate.”

When and how did for-profit corporations become part of a religion? Can he explain how a Christian corporation gets baptized? Do you dunk the Corporate Bylaws in the river? And for a Jewish corporation, how can you give it a brit milah?

“Illegally targeted conservative groups for heightened IRS scrutiny.”

Obama had nothing to do with this; the IRS was run by holdovers from the Bush administration who also targeted liberal groups. And the real illegality is right wing political groups pretending to be social welfare organizations in order to keep their donors secret. But you will never hear these facts on Faux News.

“Secretly obtained phone records from staff at the Associated Press.”

This was a totally legal action approved by a court after the AP compromised anti-terror operations. Why is Cruz so interested in coddling terrorists?

“Threatened to arrest military priests for practicing their faith during the partial government shutdown.”

If you are a government employee, you can’t work during a shutdown. That you are religious does not matter. Otherwise, there would be no shutdown. Maybe the law should be changed so that extremists like Cruz can’t shut down the government.

The rest of the allegations are probably similar.

  2. Waste of time. He is smarter than any of them. He will continue to get away with it no matter what they say and no matter how much they whine

  3. Charlie, #4, it is the DEMOCRAT majority and Obama that shut down the government because it did not want the Obamacare implementation extension (which they ended up doing anyway by allowing “hardship” extensions).
