Teens Charged With Attacking Two Yidden at Kiryas Avreichim in South Fallsburg

south-fallsburgMidHudsonNews reports: Town Police in Fallsburg have arrested three teens – two 14-year-olds and one 15-year-old – and charged them in connection with attacks on two Jewish men who are summer residents of the Kiryas Avreichim complex in South Fallsburg. The 15-year-old and one 14-year-old are from South Fallsburg. The other 14-year-old is from Woodridge.The first attack occurred as a man was walking on Elm Road last Motzoei Shabbos. The youths yelled anti-Jewish slurs at the man and then punched him in the face. The victim blacked out, but when he regained consciousness, he screamed for help. As neighbors came out, the teens started fighting with them.

The victim was treated for injuries at Ellenville Regional Hospital.The teens fled, but promised they would return.

Police responded to the scene to investigate.

On Sunday night, they returned and assaulted a husband and wife sitting in their van. Town Police said they punched the man in the face and pulled him out of the vehicle while his wife ran to call the police. The vehicle was found later and detectives investigated.

The 15-year-old and one of the 14-year-old were charged with second-degree robbery, third-degree grand larceny, and two counts of assault in the third degree. The third youth was charged with assault in the third degree. All three were released on appearance tickets to return to Sullivan County Family Court.
