Tefillos for Misha and Estee Rappaport, Injured in Last Night’s Rt. 17 Accident

Rappaport crash (4)A couple from Woodmere, NY, remain in serious condition at Westchester County Medical Center in Valhalla, NY, following an automobile accident last on Route 17 eastbound near exit 124 in the town of Goshen.

The accident occurred at about 11:45 p.m. at the end of a busy Visiting Day, the first of two of summer 2015.

Initial investigation revealed that a black minivan driven by Misha and Estee (nee Margolis) Rappaport
the right side of the road was stopped on the shoulder. Misha and Estee were out of the vehicle, standing by the driver’s side, when they were struck by a 2013 Honda. Estee was thrown approximately 100 feet.

The Honda subsequently veered into the center lane of State Route 17 eastbound and came to a stop. The driver of the Honda then attempted to back up off of the highway when it was struck by a Mobile Life ambulance transporting a patient in the center lane. The driver of the Honda was taken to Orange Regional Medical Center with minor injuries.

Misha and Estee were flown to Westchester Medical Center in serious condition. Misha suffered two broken legs and Estee sustained compound fractures to both legs and internal injuries.

The State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) and the Forensics Investigation Unit (FIU) both responded to the scene. The highway was closed until 5:00 this morning.

Misha and Estee were traveling with their four children, who were not inujred, boruch Hashem.

All are asked to daven for Misha Hakohen ben Miriam Rus and Esther Mindel bas Gittel Miriam.
