Tefillos for Rav Avrohom Chaim Levin

rav-avrohom-chaim-levin-1[Updates below.] Rav Avrohom Chaim Levin, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Telshe in Chicago, Illinois, is in need of rachamei Shomayim after being hospitalized on Erev Shabbos.

Rav Levin was attending the Torah Umesorah/ATT Midwest Regional Chinuch Conference at the Doubletree Hilton in Mundelein, Illinois, when he began wheezing and experiencing trouble breathing. Hatzolah paramedics examined Rav Levin and he was taken to the hospital, where he was sedated and placed on antibiotics. The rosh yeshiva is suffering from a serious lung infection.

Rav Levin is a senior member of the Moetzes Gedolei Hatorah of Agudas Yisroel of America and the chairman of Vaad Roshei Hayeshivos of Torah Umesorah.

One of the most prominent talmidim of Rav Mottel Katz zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Telshe in Cleveland, Rav Levin is the only son of Rav Leizer Levin zt”l, longtime rov of Detroit and talmid of the Chofetz Chaim. Rav Levin’s wife, Rebbetzin Esther Levin tichyeh, is a daughter of Rav Efraim Mordechai Ginsburg zt”l, rosh yeshiva of Mirrer Yeshiva, and granddaughter of Rav Chatzkel Levenstein zt”l, famed mashgiach of Mir and Ponovezh.

Rav Levin currently leads the Telshe Yeshiva in Chicago together with his brother-in-law, Rav Chaim Dov Keller.

Last night, a large atzeres tefillah was held at Telshe Yeshiva in Chicago. Another atzeres tefillah was held at Chevrah Lomdei Torah in Lakewood, NJ.

All are asked to daven for a refuah shleimah for Rav Avrohom Chaim ben Sarah Menuchah.

Update, Sunday, 11 a.m. EST: Rav Levin has been taken off the sedation but is still connected to a respirator to help him breathe. Doctors note a slight improvement in his condition.

Update, Sunday, 1:30 p.m. EST: Klal Yisroel‘s tefillos are clearly helping the rosh yeshiva, whose his condition has improved. He is now off the ventilator and no longer sedated.

    we need our tzaddikim to guide us.
