Tefillos for Rav Mordechai Eliyahu


rav-mordechai-eliyahuRav Mordechai Eliyahu, former Sefardic Chief Rabbi of Israel, is currently in serious condition and his family has asked that tefillos be recited on his behalf. Rav Eliyahu remains in the Intensive Care Unit at Shaarei Tzedek Medical Center in Yerushalayim.

In recent weeks, family and doctors saw improvement in Rav Eliyahu’s condition, but in recent days there has been deterioration in his health.

Back in August, the 80-year-old former Rishon Letzion collapsed at his Kiryat Moshe home. He eventually underwent emergency surgery at Shaarei Tzedek Medical Center.

Rav Eliyahu served as Chief Rabbi of Israel from 1983 to 1993.

All are asked to continue davening for Rav Mordechai Tzemach ben Mazal l’refuah sheleimah.
