rav-shmuel-wosnerAll are asked to daven for the welfare of Rav Shmuel Halevi Wosner, senior posek, author of the Shevet Halevi and rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Chachmei Lublin in Bnei Brak, whose condition took a turn for the worse last night, Motzoei Shabbos, after he was hospitalized on Motzoei Purim at Mayanei Hayeshuah Medical Center in Bnei Brak.

Rav Wonser is 101 years old.

Rav Wosner is said to be suffering from water in his lungs and acute pneumonia. He is on the sixth floor of the hospital, where he is sedated and connected to a respirator.

Born in 1913 in Vienna, Austria, Rav Wosner learned in the famous Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin in Poland led by Rav Meir Shapiro, and married and moved to Eretz Yisroel before World War II, living in Yerushalayim where he learned at the Dushinsky Yeshiva. Despite his young age, he became a member of the Eidah Hachareidis.

When Rav Wosner moved to the Zichron Meir neighborhood of Bnei Brak, at the urging of the Chazon Ish, the Tchebiner Rov, Rav Isser Zalman Meltzer and others, he established his Yeshiva Chachmei Lublin, bearing the same name as the one in Lublin where he had learned in his youth.

May Hakadosh Boruch Hu give Rav Wosner kochos and gezunt for many, many more years.

All are asked to daven for Rav Shmuel Haleivi ben Rochel.

  1. anyone ready to join together for a day of teshuva, kinnus & taanis? anyone ready to return to Hashem so we can save this great tzaddik’s life & not need him to be a korban for klal yisroel C”V. The RAMCHAL in Sefer Derech Hashem quotes, when klal yisroel is in a state of Sinning R”L, suffering & pain may be imposed upon a tzaddik as an atonement for his entire generation. In doing so the Tzaddik is raised to a level of leadership in Gan eden. may this not need to happen. we need our tzaddikim to guide us.

May he have a refuah shleima very soon
