Tehillim: Boy Falls Off Cliff at Minnewaska Park

All are asked to daven for Yehoshua ben Alte Chaya Devorah, a nine-year-old boy who fell off a cliff today at Minnewaska State Park Preserve in Kerhonkson in Ulster County, New York.

Shortly before 4 p.m., Catskills Hatzolah received an emergency call regarding a child who had fallen over three dozen feet.

The boy was flown to Westchester Medical Center University Hospital in Valhalla, NY.

Minnewaska Park is located on the Shawangunk Mountain ridge, which rises more than 2,000 feet above sea level and is surrounded by rugged, rocky terrain. The park features numerous waterfalls, three sky lakes, dense forests, and incising cliffs and ledges.

Tehillim should be said for Yehoshua ben Alte Chaya Devorah, who has sustained serious injuries.

  1. Please all keep on davening. The night has been very difficult as Yehoshua was taken off sedation the doctors had a hard time waking him. Internal injuries are always very concerning. Please please keep on davening. Say an extra perek tehilim. Hashem should grant you all yeshuos and may we share good news

  2. My son John-Luke was visiting the park that
afternoon and was the young man who scaled down the cliff to look for Yehoshua.
He found the little boy with his father and helped the EMTs. My son is still concerned about Yehoshua and we would like to know how he is doing please.

      • Sorry for the long delay. I know you have been corresponding with John-Luke and I appreciate that. I also appreciate your sentiment. As I’m sure you know, it’s a great pleasure for a parent to know his son helped someone else in some small way. No doubt it’s a blessing from God!
