Tehillim for Brooklyn Bochur Injured in Sunday Crash

parkwayAll are asked to continue davening for 16-year-old Reuven Schachner of Brooklyn, NY, who was injured in a crash on Sunday on the Garden State Parkway.

Reuven and his brother Yisroel, 23, were injured when the vehicle they were riding in overturned as they were traveling at about 7:30 a.m. to Lakewood, NJ, for a family bris. They lost control of the vehicle at mile marker 96.5. The vehicle crashed into a pole and overturned.

Emergency personnel extricated the bochurim by cutting off the roof of the car.

Reuven remains hospitalized in critical condition.

    Contrary to popular belief, it is NOT NECESSARY to know someone’s Hebrew name to pray for him or her.

    For example, if you pray for the healing of Reuven Schachner of Brooklyn, then G_d will know who you are praying for, even without his Ploni ben Plonit Hebrew name.

    This is stated explicitly in tractate Berachot.

  2. The name refoel was added on to reuvain so his new name is Refoel Reuvain ben Raizel
    and Yisroel ben Raizel
