Telshe Chicago Chanukas Habayis this Evening

rav-avrohom-chaim-levin-1This evening, Telshe Yeshiva of Chicago, under the leadership of its roshei yeshiva, Rav Avrohom Chaim Levin and Rav Chaim Dov Keller, will be celebrating a chanukas habayis in honor of the completion of its new campus. Today’s event follows a Hachnosas Sefer Torah celebration held on Thursday. The Sefer Torah was dedicated by the Walder family and the procession left from the home of Rav Levin on North Drake to the yeshiva.

This evening, two special guests, Rav Chaim Stein and Rav Yaakov Nayman, will grace the chanukas habayis, as various dedications will be made. The Nayman Building will be dedicated by Rabbi Morris Esformes in honor of Rav Yaakov Nayman. The rav-chaim-dov-keller1Simcha Davis Memorial Campus will be dedicated by the Davis and Esformes families. The Hillel Roberts Simcha Hall will be dedicated by Rabi Morris Esformes. Finally, the Valt Wing will be dedicated by the Valt family of Brazil.

The program will begin at 5 p.m. and will take place at the Telshe Yeshiva campus, located at 3535 West Foster Avenue in Chicago. The chanukas habayis will be followed by a reception.

  1. Rav Yaakov Nayman had a fall last week and was not able to attend. He did however have a video taped message that was played. This was an unbelievable maamad of kavod hatorah that just completed. Read more about it in your Yated this coming weekend!

  2. I was so inspired to see Rav Stein, zol ehr gezunt zein. He said the greatness of Rav Keller and Rav Levin is that they know what the ikar is and what is the tofel. That means they know what is supposed to be the foundation and what should remain the side points and they have been able to maintain that clarity all these years. Kayn yirbu!

  3. there wasa huge chanukas habayis yesterday for the new building and bes hamedrash at yeshivas rabbeinu yitzchok elchana – with drashos from the roshei yeshiva and many rabbanm, community leaders and politiians in attendance (state shelly silver, etc) why u did not cover such a momentous even occasion?
