Though it has been ten years since his petirah, Rav Mordechai Gifter zt”l is still alive and well in the hearts, minds, and mouths of his talmidim. Almost daily, they tell stories about him, repeat his sevaros, and take strength from the lion of a man who was the rosh hayeshiva of Telshe Yeshiva in Cleveland, Ohio, for decades and a leader of Klal Yisroel.
Tonight and tomorrow, 23 Teves, there will be several events l’illui nishmaso on the occasion of his tenth yahrtzeit.
Tonight, at the Telshe Yeshiva in Cleveland, Rav Yaakov Reisman, son-in-law of Rav Gifter and rov of Agudas Yisroel of Long Island, will deliver a shiur daas in English. In addition, Rav Reisman will give a shiur halacha tomorrow at 12:30 p.m. Both of these events will be available to the public to listen to live, via audio hook-up, by calling 402.237.2411, pin 28400.
Organized by talmidim of varying generations, a large gathering will be held at Bais Medrash Zichron Yehudah V’Chana (Rav Bronspiegel) at 2 Kakiat Lane in New Hempstead, NY (off Viola Road). Maariv will be at 7:30, followed by divrei zikaron and hisorerus from Rav Avrohom Ausband, rosh yeshivah of Telshe Alumni Riverdale; Rav Yitzchok Schwartz, R”M, Yeshiva Ohel Torah-Monsey; and Rav Moshe Tuviah Lieff, rov of Agudas Yisroel Bais Binyomin, Brooklyn, NY. To listen via telephone, call 1-858-400-8102 and enter conference code 761431#. For further information, call 845-821-6200 or 914-714-0496.
Also tonight, a kinnus will be held for Telshe alumni at the Khal Chasidim shul in the Shaarei Chesed neighborhood of Yerushalayim. That event will feature the participation of Rav Avrohom Chaim Feuer, son-in-law of Rav Gifter.
In commemoration of the yahrtzeit, this Shabbos, Parshas Va’eirah will be a Telshe Yeshiva Shabbos of Torah and Chizuk in the greater Cleveland community. Further info will be posted before Shabbos.

Oh how we miss the Rosh hayeshiva.
What a man. A true yirei Elokim
Looking forward to the one in Monsey.
I knew Rav Gifter personally for many years.
We spent many hours together
one of the few people that i shook from ‘Yirah’ when even going near him
May he continue being Mailitz Yosher for Klall Yisroel
Wow! The Rosh Hayeshivah was truly an amazing person who led Klal Yisroel with tenacity! It is very appropriate that there are so many asifos all over the world for Harav Gifter Z”L. Being in New York, I plan to attend the the Monsey Asifa (New Hempstead) and it should be especially poignant and packed as a kavod for the Rosh Hayeshivah!
i think you made a mistake the ads in teh paper say that rabbi sortzkin was speaking and not schwartz
There Is also a yarzeit Seuda in rechavia, yerushalayim by r ac feuers shul. R feuer is the son in law of r gifter. R Zelig pliskin and r zev leff will be speaking among others.
