About 7 years ago after a family bris on erev shvvii shel Pesach we went down to Yam HaMelach and my son found 83( !) shekels in the water. Because one of the 10 shekel coins was folded in half, I was suspiciuos and sure enough our Rav poskined that we could either return the coins and throw them back, much further into the Yam, or to destroy them, and thats what we did on Motzaei Pesach.. The lesson learnt- Throw the coins far far far away from the coast..Gut Yontif.
