dental-button[Audio report below.] The sound of a dental drill sends shivers down the spine of many patients, but a new device could ease the fear. The ‘dental button’ is connected to the dentist’s drill and allows the patient to stop it from working with just a click. Dr. Sapna Parikh reports that patients use it if they’re fearful; feel any pain, sensitivity, anxiety or just need a break.

There is little to no risk of causing an accident by stopping the drill. As Dr. Sapna found out, the drill simply stops without any reflex or giving anything off.

  1. yeah but if ya give this to a litle kid or anyone in fact whose afraid of the drill, they’ll continuously stop the process and blieve me, it will take double the time!!

  2. after a year and half long trail and doctors on three continents using the device, that has not proven to be the case. In fact, stoppage of procedures is 50% less than when a patient is instructed to raise their hand. People don’t go to the dentist to stop them, they go to get dental work or get out of pain. This device helps patients have control, reduces anxiety, reduces pain sensations and reduces stoppage time. It is actually based on research from the 1960’s and in psychological circles, the benefits of the device are no big surprise.
