It might be time for the Obamas to do a little belt tightening, or to get another book deal. Tax returns released today revealed that the President and First Lady brought in an adjusted gross income of $481,098 in 2013. Granted, the White House chef won’t need to stock up on Ramen noodles anytime soon – that’s 21 percent less than the $608,611 the Obamas reported for 2012.
The reduced salary, largely the result of decreased book sales, meant fewer charitable contributions than before. The Bidens, however, reported a slightly larger income in 2013 than what they made in 2012. Read more at Whitehouse.gov.
