After decades of alleged destruction by humanity – just ask our buddy Al Gore, the inventor of the internet – the ozone layer is actually beginning to recover. A United Nations panel reported today that for the first time in 25 years, scientists documented statistically significant and sustained increase in the stratospheric ozone.
Ozone is a type of oxygen that blocks harmful solar radiation. The regrowth is largely due to the phase-out of certain chemicals in aerosol cans and refrigerants in the 1980s.
It is a heartening sign – especially for liberals – that united global efforts can combat environmental crises. “It’s a victory for diplomacy and for science and for the fact that we were able to work together,” said chemist Mario Molina. Read more at AP.

“alleged”? They stopped using those chemicals and its getting better!
There is no way to win this argument. The liberals will say that it’s their measures which helped it recover and the conservatives will claim that all it needed was time and the whole thing was a hoax.
In the meantime, we barely had a summer, which was more like spring, which would have been an argument against global warming.
(I personally believe the latter, that it was all a hoax to add to Al Gore’s wallet!)
