shomrei-emunim-rebbe[Photos below.] It is with great sadness that we report the passing of the Shomrei Emunim Rebbe, Rav Avrohom Chaim Roth zt”l. Thousands had been mispallel for the recovery of the Rebbe, who sustained a heart attack over the summer and was hospitalized at Tel Hashomer Medical Center.

The Rebbe was one of the oldest admorim in the world at age 88. The petirah took place at around midnight.

Three months ago, the Rebbe collapsed at his home in Yerushalayim and was taken to the hospital, where he was in critical condition and on a respirator. Doctors fought for his life, undergoing complex treatment. A month later, he was transferred to a regular ward in the hospital. However, he was subsequently transferred to the intensive care unit at the hospital.

The Rebbe is survived by a family of talmidei chachomim and marbitzei Torah. His sons are Rav Refoel Aharon, Rav Gedalia Moshe, Rav Shlomo, and Rav Yaakov Yitzchok. His sons-in-law are the admorim of Dejh, Radoshitz, Nashchiz and Sambor. He also leaves behind dozens of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

The levaya will take place at 11 a.m. from the Rebbe’s bais medrash at 4 Sefas Emes in Bnei Brak. It will then continue at the Rebbe’s bais medrash on Rechov Meah Shearim in Yerushalayim at 1:30 p.m. Kevurah will follow at Har hazeisim, where the Rebbe will be buried next to his father zt”l.

The Rebbe’s father was Rav Aharon Roth, the Shomer Emunim, who led the Yirei Hashem kehillah in the city of Satmar, Romania.

In 1928, Rav Aharon immigrated to Eretz Yisroel, where he founded his bais medrash in Meah Shearim, Yerushalayim. Following Rav Aharon passing, his son, the Rebbe zt”l, took over the mantle of leadership, while Rav Aharon’s son-in-law, the Divrei Emunah, became the Toldos Aharon Rebbe.

The Rebbe, Rav Avrohom Chaim, was a son-in-law of Rav Mordechai Goldman of Zvhill zt”l. His rebbetzin passed away two years ago.

The Rebbe led the chassidus of Shomrei Emunim for some 65 years. He was known for his intense tefillah and the advice and chizuk he gave to thousands of people. His wisdom and insight was sought out by people from all over the globe.

The Rebbe published several seforim of his father, including Shomer Emunim, Noam Halevavos, Taharas Hakodesh, Mevakeish Emunah, Mitzvosecha Shaahsuai, and Shulchan Hatahor.

The Rebbe established a Talmud Torah and yeshiva in Yerushalayim. In 1976, he moved to Bnei Brak, where he established various mosdos, including a Talmud Torah and yeshiva on Rechov Sefas Emes.

A Shomrei Emunim bais medrash was later opened in Ashdod. That bais medrash is led by the Rebbe’s son, Rav Aharon Roth. Another Shomrei Emunim bais medrash was opened in Bet Shemesh.

May the Rebbe serve as a meilitz yosher for his many followers and for all of Klal Yisroel.

Yehi zichro boruch.

  1. ONCE AGAIN TRAGEDY STRIKES AGAIN BY HASHEM
on the same day that we lost a innocent 10 year old boy R”L

are we going to EVER get hashems wake-up call for teshuva? or will we just let it pass & think we can fool Hashem like we don’t know why such tragic events happen R”L?
TZAROS in klal yisroel is getting worse & worse by the day ALL due to one reason
HASHEM IS WAITING FOR US TO RETURN TO HIM & DO TESHUVA SO HE CAN BRING MASHIACH & RETURN TO US. Hashivenu Hashem….

HOW much more tzaros will need to happen C”V before we do teshuva? that is up to us. it can all end today.

MAY THEIR NESHAMOS HAVE AN ALIYA & may we all do teshuva so these tragedies never happen again C”V

  2. I am devastated. Mamash the Tzadik HaDor! He was the greatest tzaddik, eved-Hashem, and baal-ruach-hakodesh I ever saw. I will never forget all the times I was by the Rebbe during my three trips to E”Y, by his Shabbos and Yuntif davening, by his tish, by two private audiences. By one of them he wouldn’t even look at me, probably to spare me the busha! I was convinced he saw my aveiros, something confirmed by an eitza he gave me! Watching him daven was like seeing a tzaddik preserved in ice from you imagined the talmidei ha Baal Shem Tov HaKadosh to be like. OY OY OY! TATTE! May he intercede to bring the geulah now!

  4. Yehuda, comment # 1,

Once again your vile and vicious typing strikes again

You never internalize anything. All you do is try to C”V curs.. and make yourself feel full by shouting at others. Enough! Stop your stupidity.

  6. HaKadosh Baruch Hu makes decisions, not us, and I have never subscribed to Yehuda #1’s outlandish theory of “wake up calls”.
