belzer-rebbeA large crowd gathered last night to celebrate the engagement of Shalom Rokeach, the oldest grandson of the Belzer Rebbe, Rav Yissochor Dov Rokeach. The vort took place at the Belzer Rebbe’s home in Kiryas Belz, Yerushalayim, with the tenaim slated to be held this evening.

Shalom is a son of the Belzer Rebbe’s only son, Rav Aharon Mordechai Rokeach.

The chosson is often referred to as the “yoreish,” as he is the successor to the Belzer dynasty, with his father being the only son of the current admor and he being the oldest son of his father.

The kallah is a daughter of Rav Yechiel Meir Paneth, R”M at Yeshivas Nadvorna of Bnei Brak, and granddaughter of Rav Aharon Dovid Paneth of the Ezras Torah neighborhood of Yerushalayim.

The chosson‘s other grandfather is the Makova Rebbe.

The chosson is also a great-grandson of the Vizhnitzer Rebbe of Bnei Brak, who is the Belzer Rebbe’s father-in-law.

Interestingly, the bris of the chosson took place exactly 17 years ago today, on 4 Adar I, Tof Shin Nun Hey.
