This Motzoei Shabbos: Rav Shlomo Kanievsky to Relate Bracha from Rav Chaim Kanievsky at Tomchei Shabbos Lakewood Dinner

shlomo-kanievsky-4Lakewood, NJ – The Lakewood community has been abuzz with the news that a special bracha from Rav Chaim Kanievsky will be delivered at the Annual Tomchei Shabbos of Lakewood Dinner, which will be held this Motzoei Shabbos, Parshas Yisro, at Ateres Chana Hall at Bais Faiga.

Rav Chaim’s personal bracha for the Lakewood community will be delivered by his distinguished son, Rav Shlomo Kanievsky, rosh yeshiva of Yeshivas Tiferes Tzion and Kiryas Melech in Bnei Brak.

Before embarking on his trip to America, Rav Shlomo procured a warm letter from his father, Rav Chaim, who was very interested in the work of Tomchei Shabbos and affixed his signature to a letter encouraging the Lakewood community’s continued support of the organization.

Rav Shlomo, a respected gaon in his own right, will relate piskei halacha from his father on the vital topic of the giving and distributing of tzedakah, the obligation of maaser kesafim, and various other related topics. Additionally, he will transmit important lessons to the tzibbur through stories that he has witnessed regarding the hanhagos and gadlus of his father, and he will offer his own divrei bracha and chizuk as well.

The dinner will begin at 8:15 p.m. with a reception, followed by the program, which will include Rav Shlomo’s drasha, commencing at 9:15.

In past years, the dinner has attracted thousands of attendees from all segments of the Lakewood community, eager to throw their unconditional support behind the vital work that Tomchei Shabbos performs in assisting the needy of our town.
