doctorUnitedHealth Group dropped thousands of doctors from its networks in recent weeks, leaving many elderly patients unsure whether they need to switch plans to continue seeing their doctors, the Wall Street Journal reported on Friday.

The insurer said in October that underfunding of Medicare Advantage plans for the elderly could not be fully offset by the company’s other healthcare business. The company also reported spending more healthcare premiums on medical claims in the third quarter, due mainly to government cuts to payments for Medicare Advantage services. Read more here.

  1. by doing this they ration the care because it limits access. they would pay the same low fees to the doctors, but now they would have to pay less because there are the same amount of patients trying to get to see the same number of doctors

    this is the same united healthcare that made record profits in the past.
    it is pure greed and has nothing to do with health or care. they dont care. neither does obama

  2. This is long overdue. My wife recently found out that United Healthcare had her on a panel — in Pennsylvania. She has not practiced medicine in that state in over nine years!

    I don’t think that is what the article is talking about. If it is then good, but 0bamacare has proven to be a disaster. This seems to be one more casualty.
