Plans are afoot to announce the building of 25,000 homes in Yerushalayim during President Trump’s visit to Israel, Channel 10 reported. These will include 15,000 units over the 1967 border. The $1.1 billion project will include 10,000 homes for chareidim near the security fence close to the Qalandia checkpoint at the Atarot Airport.

Another 2,000 homes are planned for Givat Matos near Beis Lechem, 122 in the chareidi Ramat Shlomo neighborhood and 90 in Pisgat Ze’ev. The plan also calls for building 10,000 homes near Malcha as well as in West Yerushalayim neighborhoods including Arnona, Ramat Rachel and Ein Kerem.

The plans were established by the Yerushalayim municipality several years ago, but were frozen due to the Obama administration’s strong disapproval of Israeli construction beyond the 1967 lines.

The construction plans were brought back following President Donald Trump’s inauguration in January and are due to be made public in May, Channel 10 reported.

Additional sites designated for construction under the plan include Jewish-owned areas west of the airport in Yehuda and Shomron.
