Sadly, for over a thousand families in Lakewood, the month of Tishrei cannot begin. They cannot focus on Lulavim, Esrogim and Sukkah panels. They cannot fathom of buying new suits and hats. Their pantries are bare and their refrigerators have barely anything inside.
This is not an exaggeration. This is reality. This is the reason that the #TomcheiTishrei campaign spearheaded by Tomchei Shabbos of Lakewood, to raise the needed $1 Million in a day of giving, must succeed.
Every dollar donated to this campaign will be matched by a few generous donors to quadruple its value. $150 becomes $600, $500 becomes $2,000, $3,600 becomes $14,400. Yes, it’s incredible! In one day, the day of giving dubbed #TomcheiTishrei, thousands of individuals in Lakewood will go from being stressed about their sustenance to being joyous at being able to celebrate Tishrei and its Yomim Tovim like everyone else.
