Today: Memorial for the Holtzbergs, Moishy Holtzberg’s Upsherin

gavriel-holtzberg-with-moishyA memorial ceremony marking the first yahrtzeit of Rabbi Gavriel and Rivky Holtzberg will take place today and will include Moishy Holtzberg’s upshern.

The memorial event marking the anniversary of the Chabad shluchim to Mumbai will take place in Kfar Chabad.

The invitation-only event was organized by Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Aharonov, Chairman of Agudas Chassidei Chabad in Israel, along with Rabbi Shimon Rosenberg, Rivky Holtzberg’s father.

Rabbi Rosenberg specifically requested that the event take place  in the same spot where the Holtzbergs’ levaya took place one year ago, spreading the message that their shlichus will continue, and marking the beginning of the education of Moishy in the ways of Torah.

A huge tent has been erected to accommodate the crowd that is expected. The tent can accommodate 2,500 guests, which will include the Rosenberg and Holtzberg families and friends, as well as supporters from throughout Israel and the world.

The event will be attended by rabbis, ministers, members of the Knesset, personal friends of the Holtzbergs, and their supporters.

Singer Avraham Fried will perform.

Media outlets from around the world plan to cover the event, such as AP, Sky News, the BBC, and NBC. Representatives from all of Israel’s TV stations, daily newspapers, leading Internet sites, and radio stations have sent reporters to cover the ceremony, including the speeches and Moishy’s upsherin.
