An Egyptian toddler was sentenced to life in prison for allegedly killing three people at a protest when he was just over a year old.
The Egyptian military said in a statement that the crimes allegedly took place in January 2014.
The 3-year-old, Ahmed Mansour Qorany Sharara, was sentenced along with 115 others last week. When agents arrived at his home and realized his age, they detained his father for four months instead.
An aide to Egypt’s interior minister said the sentencing was a case of mistaken identity and promised that neither the boy nor his father would be imprisoned. Read more at CNN.
