I am amazed by how many people still stop me in the street and say, “Aren’t you guys only a Tishah B’Av video? What else do you keep busy with all year?” Actually, I had the same question myself –until I joined up and got a small glimpse into this amazing, non-stop organization. “Wowed” would be the understatement of the year; I was completely blown away.
Here are some of the things I learned that the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation is currently accomplishing:
Our programs reach 6 continents, 22 countries, 350 communities; more than 52,000 students in elementary and high schools use our curricula; 430 schools participate in our educational program; 25,000 callers use our three hotlines daily; 420,000 books are in print; 18,000 learning emails go out daily; 50,000 attend our World-wide Tishah B’Av Event.
So no, CCHF is not only a Tishah B’Av Event organization.
As the only organization in the world devoted solely to spreading the teachings of the Chofetz Chaim on Ahavas Yisrael, CCHF’s programs are now the premier resource for children’s education in mitzvos bein adam la’chaveiro in schools around the world. Our adult programs have positively affected communities and changed the lives of many in the past 29 years.
The Chofetz Chaim knew that Shmiras Haloshon was the best protection for Klal Yisrael, because only if we would have compassion for each other would Hashem have compassion on us. He devoted his life to teaching Klal Yisrael what Hashem wants from us, what the Torah demands of us, what we can do to merit protection and salvation.
At the urging of the Manchester Rosh Yeshivah, Rav Yehudah Zev Segal, zt’”l, the Chofetz Chaim Heritage Foundation took up this banner 29 years ago. We are the only organization in the world dedicated solely to this purpose, and year after year we have taken its mission to new levels. As the years have passed, CCHF has initiated many ways of inspiring and teaching both young and old.
