The price of renting a Yerushalayim apartment for the Yomim Noraim has skyrocketed.
“This year, we took an apartment of three and a half rooms in Yerushalayim; the price, which seems a bit insane, was 5,000 shekels ($1,400) for three days,” Motti told Channel Kan11. “But the apartment owners know that we want to be with the rebbe and that we won’t give up that tremendous feeling, to daven with a rebbe, tzaddik and kadosh, so we have to pay the price.”
Some chassidishe groups have tried to stop the phenomenon. In Vizhnitz, Bnei Brak, where prices are established by the rebbe, an apartment for a couple for three days costs a maximum $185.

I understand people fly to uman because of rav nachman’s kever, but why yerushalayim ?
why go to a dead rebbe if you can go to a live one?
I think we need to be very wary about how we speak of our Sages. All Sages!
We used to rent apts. in Geula for about $65-70 a night even during Succos time. 2 years ago we rented in the area for about $1700 for 3 weeks (from before Rosh Hashana until after Succos)
At least when the Bais Hamikdash was around, the people who lived in Yerushalayim, invited the visitors into their homes for FREE. There was room for everybody. Today, everything is gelt gelt and more gelt. Pheh. No wonder the Bais Hamikdash has not been restored.
