The West Bank Gush Etzion region includes the Torah communities of Meitzad and Maaleh Amos, resulting in Yoel Silver, a talmid of Rav Yissachar Meir of Yeshivas Hanegev, being appointed as deputy chairman of the Gush Etzion regional council.
“With Hashem’s help, a great future is still before us with large swaths of land that can turn Maaleh Amos and Meitzad into cities,” he said, noting that Maaleh Amos had been established under the guidance of Rav Yosef Shalom Elyashiv.
If the government lets West Bank construction get under way, this could provide thousands of families with less expensive homes relatively close to Yerushalayim, he said.

what??? the gush etzion region includes yeshivat har etzion in alon shevut and any number of other religious communities. i wonder how many people have heard of maale amos or meitzad as oppose to efrat or neve daniel or the chareidi mega town of beitar illit.
The entire Gush is filled with Torah learning & menshim.
