Torah Umesorah Announces Its Second Annual Presidents’ Conference

torah-umesorahTorah Umesorah will be hosting its 2nd Annual Presidents Conference over Shabbos Parshas Shmos the weekend of January 7 – 10 The Conference is for school and organizational board members, community leaders, Executive Directors, Administrators, Kollel Directors and anyone involved in the administrative operations of Mosdos.

This Conference will address real day to day issues fund-raisers face and will provide concrete and practical ideas that can be implemented immediately into the daily operations or your organization.

Tuition Crisis, government funding, fundraising within and beyond the community, budget management, board development and many other administrative topics are among what will be addressed at the Presidents Conference.

Presenters at this year’s Conference will discuss some of the most pressing issues facing those responsible to balance the budget and meet payroll in a timely fashion. It is well known the alleged frustration between schools that cannot function financially with their current tuition income and the parents who don’t have the means to pay more. The Thursday night session at this year’s Conference will address the relationship building between organizations and their donors.

At the networking breakfast those assembled will have the opportunity to develop ideas and work together on the pressing problems with which they deal.  Concurrent workshops on fundraising, budget cutting, time management and goal setting will be offered from leaders in each field. A critical session on expanding your fundraising base and one focusing on Government funding will be held as well.

One of this year’s highlights at the Conference will be the opportunity for the delegates to have a one on one consultation with the attending Roshei Yeshiva and with Conference Lecturers or leading Balei Batim. Included on this list will be Dr. Louis Malcmacher, R’ Yaakov Rajchenbach, R’ Gedaliah Weinberger, R’ Aron Wolfson and R’ Meir Zlotowitz.

Lecturers at this year’s Conference will include Rabbi Yaakov Bender – Rosh Yeshiva Darchei Torah, R’ Avrohom Fruchthandler – Member Torah Umesorah Presidium and President Yesiva Rabbi Chaim Berlin, R’ Aaron Kotler – CEO Beth Medrash Govoha Lakewood, R’ Chaim Dovid Zwiebel – Executive Vice President  Agudath Israel of America, R’ Avi Shulman  – Professional Life Coach, Gary Torgow – President Yeshiva Bais Yehuda Detroit, Chaim Wealcatch – Executive Board Member TA Baltimore, Eli Dessler – Financial Director Hebrew Academy of Cleveland,  Yaacov Lewis – President Yeshiva of South Shore NY, Rabbi Zvi Chaim Pincus – Tiferes Stam and others.

The Convention will have the Zchus of having Horav Hillel David, Horav Dovid Harris, Horav Shmuel Kamenetsky and Horav Avrohom Chaim Levin, all members of the Vaad Roshei Yeshiva of Torah Umesorah, present at the Conference. Opening Remarks will be delivered by Horav Yochanan Zweig. 

Torah Umesorah will host its Presidents Conference at the Miami Hilton and catering will be provided by Chap a Nosh of Cedarhurst. Those who attended last year’s conference felt invigorated and left with better skills in the wonderful work they are doing for our Mosdos Hatorah.

Every Yeshiva, Bais Yaakov, Day School and organization will want to have members of their Board and of their administrative Staff joining this Conference.   1. I dont see anything about how to handle abuse when it happens. It worries me that this is not on the program as something important.

  2. Great! We are going to have a meeting about the “financial crisis in the schools” by spending funds, which are in short supply, to shuttle people, most of whom are located in the NY metro area, to Miami for a conference. This makes sense how?

    Further, while some of the names of presenters are devoted and selfess askanim, many of them come from financially privileged backgrounds and don’t truly understand (as in al tadin chavercha…) the reality of not being able afford tuition.

    Ain chachom kebaal hanisayon. They should invite some parents who can’t afford tuition or Rabbis who have to deal with baal habatim who become poor because of tuitions.

    Then theme will have some credibility.
