Tragedy in Yerushalayim: 26-Year-Old Killed in Accident

dissin-accidentIt has been a week of tragedies in Yerushalayim. Yesterday, a young boy was killed in an automobile accident. Today, a young married resident of Ramat Shlomo was killed and four people injured in a head-on collision on the road between Gilo and Gush Etzyon.

Mordechai Zev Dissin z”l was 26 years old.

An initial investigation by police indicates that a jeep being driven by two Arabs from East Jerusalem, traveling towards Yerushalayim, suddenly veered off course and hit a car. Mordechai Zev was tragically killed, while a passenger in his car was injured. The two Arabs were taken to the hospital, and an additional person in a third vehicle was also injured.

Sources report that the car traveling to Gush Etzion that caused the accident was carrying two couches on its roof. During its trip, one of the sofas fell on to the road. The driver became startled, drove off course, and crashed into the car of Mordechai Zev Dissin.

The levaya of Mordecai Zev z”l is being held at Shamgar Funeral Home, followed by kevurah on Har Hamenuchos, as his father asked that his son be buried before Shabbos.

May we not hear of any further tzaros.

Umacha Hashem dimah mei’al kol ponim.
