It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Dov Ber Sass, son of Rabbi and Mrs. Dovid and Shoshana (Hilsenrath) Sass of Edmonton, Canada. He was 11 years old.

Rabbi Sass, an alumnus of Yeshivas Rabbeinu Chaim Berlin, is Head of School of Menorah Academy in Edmonton.

As reported on Matzav previously, Dovi was hit in the head with a baseball on Thursday, September 15, and suffered severe trauma. Thousands of Yidden all over the globe davened and performed mitzvos, including raising money for hachnosas kallah, as a zechus for Dov Ber ben Shoshana Roiza, hoping for his refuah.

Unfortunately, Dovi passed away this morning, plunging his family and their friends into mourning.

Dovi was an adorable boy who was always filled with so much energy and was fueled by his love for learning and sports. Dovi had a second half, his twin brother Moish. They were two peas in a pod and were inseparable in everything that they did. Moish has been lost without his brother by his side and was davening for a neis so that they could go back to enjoying living life to its fullest together. Hakadosh Boruch Hu, however, wished to have Dovi’s pure neshamah at His side.

The levayah will be held Sunday, at 2 p.m., at Shomrei Hadas Chapels, located at 3803 14th Avenue in Boro Park, Brooklyn.

Umachah Hashem dimah me’al kol ponim.
