Thousands of police and IDF troops will be on duty today as tens of thousands of Jews arrive at the Kosel for Birchas Kohanim. Troops will be on special alert following the unrest on the Har Habayis Wednesday.
Police will be stationed along all paths to the Kosel, with shuttle buses bringing people outside Shaar Haashpah adjacent to the Kosel. Private cars are banned in the Old City today and the public is asked to use public transportation only.
On Wednesday, Muslims rioters hurled flares and rocks at police forces on the Har Habayis. One police officer was reportedly slightly injured.
