Trump Middle East envoy Jason Greenblatt made a quick stop in Yerushalayim last night on his way home from the Arab summit in Jordan, meeting with Rav Gershon Edelstein, rosh yeshivah of Ponovezh, Kol Haolam reports.
Rav Edelstein, who was in Yerushalayim for an event in Binyanei Haumah marking the beginning of bein hazmanim, gave Greenblatt a brachah for success in his mission.
“How will I have the strength to do the job?” Greenblatt, a frum Jew, asked. The rosh yeshivah responded that ”When a person wants to do good he gets a siyatta diShmaya.”
Greenblatt’s tweet, accompanied by a picture of the meeting read: “What a special way to end an important trip: blessing and insight of Rav Edelstein (sic) of Ponevezh, a father of the Israeli yeshiva world.”
