President Trump agreed on Monday to meet with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe ahead of a possible summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, The Washington Post reported.
The agreement was made during a Monday phone call between Trump and Abe, according to the Post, which added that a Japanese official said a meeting between the two leaders could happen during the G-7 meeting in Quebec on June 8 and 9.
The development comes as the Trump administration works to salvage a summit with Kim originally scheduled for June 12 in Singapore.
