Assuming the somber duties of commander in chief, President Donald Trump made an unannounced trip today via Air Force One to Dover Air Force Base to honor the returning remains of a U.S. Navy SEAL killed in a weekend raid in Yemen.

Chief Special Warfare Operator William “Ryan” Owens, 36, was killed early Sunday in Yemen during a raid on al Qaeda terrorists, the first counter-terrorism raid during the Trump presidency.

Trump’s daughter Ivanka Trump accompanied the president aboard the aircraft.
