Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump responded to a speech attacking his candidacy by former Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney today in Portland, Maine.

Trump said Romney he would have gotten on his knees for the Trump endorsement back in 2012.

“I am not a fan of Barack Obama and that was a race that I backed Mitt Romney, I backed him, you can see how loyal he is,” Trump said. “He was begging for my endorsement. I could have said, Mitt, drop to your knees, he would have dropped to his knees, he was begging. He was begging me.”

He also called Romney as a “choke artist” and said he “chickened out” of running again in 2016.

  1. Did trump ever say anything tzum Zach? non stop showboating and berating. To take a line from his book, “there’s something wrong with this guy”. In all likelihood he’s still eons better than anyone in the democratic camp (either a corrupt power hungry felon, or a simple communist lunatic), but hopefully someone with a bit of a human side should be the republican nominee. Cruz, a true conservative (someone with ideals that we as frum yidden should find ourselves very agreeable with), or Rubio, true more an insider, but also a decent person, with basic conservative ideals, though softer than cruz. Trump is just a loud loud mouth, not saying anything concrete. Unfortunately, we live in a country where politics is all about style and nothing to do with substance (see: Barack Obama). Hashem Yerachem aleinu.
