President Trump on Wednesday said Russia does not pose a threat to the United States, contradicting his director of national intelligence on a critical security issue and deepening a political controversy that began at his summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The president said his administration is “doing very well” in countering Russia, citing U.S. sanctions on Moscow and the explosion of Russian nationals accused of being spies, telling reporters, “There has never been a president as tough on Russia has I have been.” Trump also replied “no” when asked if Russia still poses a threat to the U.S.

That comment undercut his own director of national intelligence, Dan Coats, who said that Russia’s hostile activities against the U.S. and its allies are “ongoing.”

“We have been clear in our assessment of Russian meddling in our 2016 elections and their ongoing, pervasive efforts to undermine our democracy,” Coats said in a statement.

  1. Do I know more than the President knows?
Do you know more than the President knows?
Espionage, murder & kidnapping are not just things you see in movies. They’re real.
The general public has no need to know many things that occur. There are various reasons why every detail of every terrorist incident is not reported to the public.
Example: A few weeks after 9-11 I was visiting Brooklyn, NY. I happened to be visiting with a NYPD official. During the visit he took me to the heart of Flatbush where some streets were cordoned off due to some traffic accident investigation………….The real reason it was cordoned off is because the NYPD busted 4 foreign nationals who had a carload of explosives ready to detonate them in a large Jewish area………..How would you feel if you lived in the neighborhood?? Better you shouldn’t know!! This is how thousands of Terrorist incidents were handled and I suppose are still handled. Look back at Terrorist activity statistics and you’ll wonder why you never heard of so many at the time.
