This morning, President Donald Trump ripped the Oakland Raiders’ Marshawn Lynch, also known as “Beast Mode,” for refusing to stand for the U.S. national anthem but standing for the Mexican anthem, the Daily Beast reports.

“Great disrespect!” Trump tweeted. “Next time NFL should suspend him for remainder of season. Attendance and ratings way down.”
Lynch stood for the Mexican anthem on Sunday in Azteca Stadium in Mexico City before a game against the New England Patriots. He has not stood for the American national anthem since he returned from retirement this season.

    • First of all, Hatikva is the antithesis of the American national anthem where they declare loyalty to the country AND to G-d – “In G-d is our trust.”
While Hatikva has no mention of G-d and no mention of Torah and mitzvos but stresses being an “am chofshi beartzeinu” – being free to do whatever you want in the land. Why should any religious Jew stand to such blasphemy?
Secondly, when do chareidim hear Hatikvah?

      • Really silly. Hashem is our king and Hatikva is well enjoyed.

Have ever some men a sense of humor? We just survived a holocaust and Torah is still unknown to many. We daven for Torah. Not a national song. Have faith that G-d builds the universe for man. Your elitist religious higher edge is not working. We live in more harmony when we supplicate strength to earn torah; not ever mania to call out the dwelling of mankind to eliminate the whole of secular or bet angry social mistaken gig. Minds respond to Hatikva and feel the holocaust. Hashem need NOT be mentioned.

        Baruch Hashem. Israel is sovereign.

        • If Hatikva is a song only about the Holocaust, it should not be a national anthem. National anthems are songs that praises the country.

“Hashem need NOT be mentioned.” and you wonder why religious Jews would not sing it.

          • Holocaust era is pretty serious. Every jew had a prayer. Hatikva takes it.

Did you ever hear a Megilla? Hashem is not mentioned once. Fact. Maybe you hate Purim too.

How interesing that in our history, the dream of survival both Purim and the hatikvah do not mention Hashem. Maybe he is so powerful no one must think he was gone.

If you hate Hatikvah, maybe you are so nasty that anything without the King’s grade is never your approval. His grade is ij our peace. I will never agree a jew to hate Hatikvah understands the holocaust or even appreciates Torah. It is authentic and you will not claim we live graded wrong.

Good luck. Hashem is King. It is in His universe. Let there be humanity.

  1. There is no question that Matt Moore is 100 times better than the old stiff, Jay Cutler. The problem is Adam Gase has been threatened by upper management to play Cutler. CUTLER STINKS! Moore should be the starter. The Dolphins are heading for the basement.

  2. On this one our president is correct. Enough of these low life over paid football players showing such a public disregard for our amazing veterans and police forces.

  3. once Matzav is posting everybody’s sports’ editorials, the wheels have come off on my Broncos’ season. We’d probably be better off if we got back Jay Cutler. What a train wreck.

    • He’s all yours buddy. Cutler couldn’t fight his way out of a paper bag. Too bad you no longer have pretty boy John Elway (even though he was way overrated).

      • Wrong person to say that to, being that I read your insular comments during my daily sacrificial goat to the great John Elway’s effigy. Went to 3 Super Bowls in the 80s without another All-Pro on his offense. Retired in the top 3 of every single quarterbacking stat category, including wins, yards touchdowns, 4th quarter comebacks, I’d love to hear your thoughts on who is better, Mr Woodley (who threw 15 more picks in his career than touchdowns, and drnk himself to death at age 33)
