President Trump took to Twitter early Sunday to blast the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, claiming the event was “a very big, boring bust.”

“While Washington, Michigan, was a big success, Washington, D.C., just didn’t work,” Trump said, referring to a rally he held instead of attending the dinner Saturday night.

The president also said that entertainer Michelle Wolf “really ‘bombed’” during her routine at the dinner, calling her a “so-called comedian” and saying that Fox News host Greg Gutfeld should host the event next year.

  1. Totally not appropriate with this website and its viewership. The “speech” was laced with the worst nibul peh and oinoas divarim.

  2. The remarks were so filthy that I had to stop watching after a couple of minutes. The little I saw though showed not comedic jabs at the President and his administration, but a no-hods-barred all-out assault that was shocking in its viciousness. Lines were crossed that hadn’t ever been before – there was certainly plenty of fodder for smutty comedians during the Clinton administration, but no one dreamed of this type of “everything goes” attack against any other president. Of course, since this is President Trump being attacked, the obscene speech was applauded far more than it was condemned.

In summary, it was inappropriate, vicious, obscene, personal and partisan. Whatever you may think of Trump, the press corp, for the most part, has abandoned any pretense of fairness in its coverage of him and is now functioning as a blatant, one-sided attack machine.
