The Transportation Security Administration is fast solidifying its title as America’s most irritating bureaucratic organization. On Monday, the TSA security fee on tickets doubled for non-stop flights. Previously, the charge was $2.50 for a non-stop flight, but now all tickets will carry an extra fee of $5.60.
What’s worse, any trip with a layover longer than four hours will be counted as a separate flight and charged with an additional security fee. Congress approved the increase, but American fliers have voiced their anger.
