tsa2The Transportation Security Administration is fast solidifying its title as America’s most irritating bureaucratic organization. On Monday, the TSA security fee on tickets doubled for non-stop flights. Previously, the charge was $2.50 for a non-stop flight, but now all tickets will carry an extra fee of $5.60.

What’s worse, any trip with a layover longer than four hours will be counted as a separate flight and charged with an additional security fee. Congress approved the increase, but American fliers have voiced their anger.

George Hobica, founder ofairfarewatchdog.com, said, “It’s like paying for a root canal. It’s something you didn’t want anyway. Now you’re paying more for it.” Read more at USA Today.
