If Trump can build part of a wall by declaring a national emergency then in 2021 his Democratic successor can declare a national emergency to provide health insurance to all, to ban private firearms sales, to order an end to internal combustion engine vehicles, to ban coal mining and coal burning power plants, and to tear down Trump’s wall.
Republicans should consider whether they want this precedent.
