Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu recently officially opened the Harel Tunnels, two 250 feet long tunnels next to Mevasseret Tzion. Together with a massive new bridge they will hopefully make Highway 1 between Yerushalayim and Tel Aviv faster and safer.
“The Harel Tunnels that we are inaugurating today together with the Motza bridge that eliminates the dangerous curve where many sadly lost their lives so that it became called the curve of death, and with the train that will soon run on the tracks [nearby], all these will provide a boost for Yerushalayim,” Netanyahu said.
He noted that these improvements were part of a 27 billion shekel multi-year project to enhance Israeli transport throughout the country.
