Amidst tears, about 1,000 people gathered this morning for the levaya of Tuvia Yanai Weissman Hy”d, the off-duty Nachal IDF soldier, on a seven day leave from the army, who was injured in a terror attack in the Rami Levy supermarket in the Shaar Binyamin Industrial Zone in Shomron and later succumbed to his wounds.
Yanai was stabbed by a Palestinian assailant while shopping with his wife and their four-month-old daughter. He is also survived by his grieving parents and by three brothers.
Yanai was buried at the Har Herzl military cemetery. He was 21 years old.
The Weissmans live in Ma’ale Michmas.
Some 1,000 attended his funeral.
A second person, a 36-year-old member of the local community council, was also injured by the attackers, Ihad Sabah and Omar Rimawi, two 14-year-old terrorists, but is now in stable condition.
Sabah and Rimawi were shot by a civilian in the store. Sabah has since died. Rimawi is alive.
