In a surprising “coincidence,” a girl at a religious school in Gush Etzion asked her teacher to have the class daven for her grandfather who was having a kidney transplant that day. Shortly afterwards, a girl in the same class asked the teacher to have the class daven for her mother who was donating a kidney.

That evening, the girls discovered that both tefillos were for the same transplant. Ashera, mother of six, had donated a kidney to Mordechai, the grandfather whom she never met in her life.

The transplant was the 558th arranged by the Matnas Chaim organization which matches kidney donors to people in need of transplants.
