netanyahu-bennetIsrael’s new deputy foreign minister, Tzipi Hotovely, said in an address to the Jewish state’s diplomatic core that all of the land of Israel belongs to the Jewish people.

“Many times it seems that in our international relations, more than emphasizing the rightness of our cause, we are asked to use arguments that play well diplomatically,” she said in a broadcast to Israel’s 106 diplomats serving abroad. “But at a time when the very existence of Israel is being called into question, it is important to be right.”

Hotovely, who is the highest-ranking official at the Israeli Foreign Ministry due to the fact that Israeli Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu did not appoint a foreign minister, spoke of the need to return to the “basic truth” about who controls the land.

“The international community deals with considerations of justice and morality,” she said. “We need to return to the basic truth of our right to this land.”

Hotovely ended her address by quoting Rashi, who described how Hashem gave the land of Israel to the Jewish people.

“Rashi says the Torah opens with the story of the creation of the world so that if the nations of the world come and tell you that you are occupiers, you must respond that all of the land belonged to the creator of world and when he wanted to, he took from them and gave to us,” she said.

  1. And it also says in the Bible that you cant be mechalel shabbos if you ignore one you have to ignore them all.

  2. The lubavitcher Rebbe told abba eban many years ago that when he addresses the un he should say what rashi says in bereshis and that he should quote from the torah tahthaahem gave the land to the jews. He also told him to quote where it says that Avrohom bought the mearas hamachpela that yakov bought the land in shchem and to quote from nach where Dovid hamelech bought the har habais. And eban did do as the Rebbe said. Good to see that there is aploitician that is starting to quite torah in establishing our right to all of eretz Yisroel

  3. Author of comment #1, you are absolutely wrong and your comment may come to haunt you. Do you fulfill all the mitzvos k’din, as prescribed in the Shulchan Aruch? Because if you did, you would be a tzaddik gamur and we should have heard of you. Let Tzippi conduct Israel’s foreign affairs quoting our Sages and rishonim. Million times better than her predecessor.

  4. Wow. Its amazing that the picture you posted above of Tzipi Hotvely, looks so much like Benjamin Netanyahu. psssshh

  5. She is of course completely correct on what she said — and completely wrong for saying it while serving in this role. Why is she so foolish to think that the rest of the world will care what an 11th century rabbi says about anything? This makes her — and her bosses — seem like religious fanatic irredentists. What a way to lose friends and to alienate people.
