ban-ki-moonUN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon today expressed “solidarity” with the families of the three kidnapped Israeli teenagers, but also hit out at Israel for arresting Hamas terrorists as part of its operation to locate the three teens.

In a statement outlining Ban’s conversation with Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu the day before, the UN chief stressed “the need to avoid an escalation of tensions in the wake of the recent abduction of three Israeli teenagers and the increased violence and mass arrests in the West Bank.”

According to the statement, in yesterday’s phone call with Netanyahu, Ban “conveyed his sympathy for the abducted teenagers and deep solidarity with their families” but also “voiced concern over the increased violence, mass arrests, and restrictions on movement in the West Bank.” It was imperative, Ban reportedly told Netanyahu, “not to give in to provocations in a way that seems likely to escalate tensions further.” Ban called both sides to “show restraint and to observe human rights standards and international law.”

  1. Don’t worry Ban Ki-Moon. Israel will of course have to have some road kill dreams to turn back to the palestinians when there is a final deal (hopefully with G-ds blessing) for the 3 jewish students to be returned to Israel. You can not think that Israel has all of the trade value in its jails already huh?

  2. TO SHOW “RESTRAINT” WHO WAS THE ONE WHO STARTED ??????????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! UNTIL THOSE BOYS ARE FOUND ALIVE AND WELL, THERE ARE NO RIGHTS TO THOSE DOGS.

  3. I think we should “Ban” Ki-moon from running his mouth so much about Israeli “restraint”.

Better yet, maybe Ban Ki-moon should also show some “restraint” by perhaps by not constantly commenting so much about the IDF’s desperate attempts to rescue underage hostages that were kidnapped illegally under international law.

  4. Let’s see. I don’t remember even one word of “concern” for the kidnappings. They are what caused the response. What in the world does this person thnk did cause it? Obviously, Jews are not a concern to him.
