U.N.: Ebola Threatens Peace, Security

united-nationsThe United Nations Security Council has declared that Africa’s ebola outbreak which has killed more than 2,600 people so far is a “threat to international peace and security.”

The 15-member council called on all countries to provide urgent resources and assistance to help combat the crisis, which has been widening from the epicenter of Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.

The council also adopted a resolution calling on states to lift travel and border restrictions, imposed in the wake of the outbreak, saying such measures further isolate the affected countries and “undermined their efforts to respond.” Read more at Yahoo.
