UN: More Foreigners Joining Terrorists

More than 25,000 people from over 100 nations have left to join al-Qaida and the Islamic State in Iraq, a figure that “is higher than it has ever been historically,” according to a UN report released Wednesday.

A panel of experts monitoring UN sanctions against al-Qaida found the number of foreign terrorist fighters has jumped 71 percent between mid-2014 and March of 2015.

More than 20,000 of those foreigners are heading to Iraq and Syria, primarily joining ISIS and the Al-Nusra front and posing “an urgent global security problem.”

The report called for greater intelligence sharing between countries and warned a defeat of ISIS in Syria and Iraq could lead to the spread of more foreign terrorists worldwide. Read more.

  1. Where else can you kill, rob, maim, etc., etc. without any conscious, and not to take any responsibility for your actions. This is a child’s dream of do want you want and take what you want no one can stop you. There are no parents in the house to say NO, so this is what happens. Why wouldn’t anyone want to join, especially the social outcasts.
