A United Nations Human Rights Council report has found “serious violations of international humanitarian law” that “may amount to war crimes” in last summer’s war in Gaza. According to the report, the violations were committed by both Israeli soldiers and Palestinian fighters, including Hamas.
The council found that “impunity prevails across the board” in the Israeli military, while Palestinians fire rockets into Israel indiscriminately.
Israel cleared itself of any wrongdoing in the war in a report published last week. The UN report, however, is expected to guide an International Criminal Court investigation into possible war crimes. Read more at The New York Times.
